Website redesign
Your business has grown, your website has not. You are talking to bigger clients than your site suggests. A redesign brings the two back together.
- Kept
- Your text and imagery
- Renewed
- Design and technology
When renewing pays off
The signals we hear most
Recognise two or more, and your website is probably costing you more than it returns.
- The site is more than four years old and little has been done since
- On a phone you have to zoom in to read anything
- Loading takes noticeably long
- You cannot change anything without calling someone
- What the site offers no longer matches what you do
- You would rather not give the link to a new client
Approach
What stays and what goes
-
First look at what is there
We review the current site on technology, speed, findability and content. Sometimes patching is enough, more often rebuilding is cheaper than continuing to repair. We say which of the two it is, and why.
-
Keep what works
Copy that performs, imagery you had made, and pages that produce enquiries: those come along. A redesign is no reason to throw away findability built up over years.
-
Redirect addresses properly
If the structure changes, we point the old addresses to the new ones. Without those redirects you lose the positions you had built up in search results. This is the step most often skipped in a redesign.
-
Rebuild
New design, new technology, same business. With previews along the way so you can steer before it is finished.
Common questions
About renewing
Will I lose my position in Google?
Not if it is done properly. We redirect the old addresses to the new ones, keep existing copy where it performs, and submit a new sitemap. A temporary fluctuation in the first weeks is normal; a lasting drop is a sign it was done carelessly.
Can my website stay online during the build?
Yes. We build on a separate address only you and we can see. Your current site stays online until the moment of switching over, which usually takes minutes.
I do not know where my domain is registered.
That happens more often than you would think. We find out where the domain is registered and guide the transfer or the connection. The domain stays, or comes to stand, in your own company's name.
What if my old site is actually fine?
Then we say so. In that case maintenance and hosting makes more sense than a redesign: we take over the upkeep and keep the site current and secure.
Let us take a look at your site
Include the address in the quote form. We will look at it and say honestly whether renewing is worth it, or whether maintenance is enough.
